Well, my black eye is beginning to subside, and I successfully made a mustard sauce to put on my vegetables. So, I am feeling good about myself (it is definitely the small victories).
I have been working pretty hard on VBS stuff for the past few weeks. We are doing Jonah. I have spent a good deal of time working on the script and music (just tweaking it mainly, only a few songs had to be rewritten or substituted). I now have Jonah: From Fish to Faith completed. I think I am most excited about the uber-large fish that will get to travel down the center aisle in the auditorium and spit up Jonah.
Next topic...I have a new favorite movie...Junebug. If you haven't seen it, you need to. Who knew that Benjamin McKenzie could play more than Ryan on the O.C.?
Topic number three...American Idol. I have to admit that I am a little bit of an addict. Although, I have not, I repeat, have not voted. I am not a big enough fan to spend money on voting.
Final topic...actually, I have nothing. So, I will wish everyone a Happy Sunday.

It's Definitely Time for a New Post
It has been awhile since I have posted, so I will use this post to catch you guys up on.
1. (And this is probably only important to me) My whole NCAA tournament brackett was shot the first weekend with the upset of Gonzaga, USC, and Duke. However, I still call UNC to win the whole thing.
2. I am very seriously considering purchasing another car. This car would be a huge Ford LTD-like car that is a total junker. So, when people do not yield to the exit ramps coming off the freeway, I would just ram them with my car. Sounds good to me.
3. The sales clerk in a BIBLE bookstore was being ugly to me the other day--like bitter-at-the-world/I-was-inconveniencing-her ugly. I really wanted ask her if she thought she might be struck down by lightening at any moment because she was being rude about bibles.
4. So, I tried to cook again last night. The plan was beans. I soaked them through the day, and then when I got home from work, I followed the directions on the bag. (Cook beans in large pot with six cups of water for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.) When I went back to check on the beans 1 1/2 hours later, total mush. It was orange soup, and there was not a bean left in sight. I really would like to find a fool proof recipe that even I cannot mess-up because except for cereal and peanut butter sandwiches, everything else I cook is inedible.
5. I currently have a small black eye. I ran into the water dispenser as I was leaning down to get some water.

Too Much To Choose From
Well, since it has been a little bit since I have been able to post, there is a lot that I could write about. In fact, there is too much to choose from. So, I have decided to give one sentence summaries of a few of the items.
1. What is up with this trend of really unnatural looking tans; when did the sun begin turning people orange?
2. On Talk Soup, I discovered that Bruce Jenner has found life again as part of the Kardashians.
3. Rockets are on a 21 game winning streak.
4. March Madness ROCKS; this is my favorite time of the year; are you preparing to fill out your bracket?
5. I'm quite tired of immoral policitians.

Renovation
So, we just began (yesterday) our new Elementary Bible Class curriculum called Journey Land. The theme behind it called for a complete renovation of our rooms. I thought you might enjoy seeing the renovations. There are still items that need to be finished in each room, but they are definitely very cool. The rooms were originally all painted battleship gray and were very dated. Here are some pictures.
Joseph's Workshop (Art, Science, & Cooking)
Solomon's Portico (Storytelling)
The Room of Ancient Scrolls (Geography & Culture)

The Coliseum (Drama & Theater)...this room is the least finished, but will be shortly.

Woe Is Me
Okay...so this is my "woe is me" blog entry. I guess I should actually call it my woe is me/I miss my friends entry. I really miss my Saturn Road posse.
I miss having people that I can hang out with and call with random thoughts. People who will pull over to the side of the road to answer a text message. I miss having people I can be myself with. I had a couple of people tell me that this transition would be hard because I came in as a hire, and there is so much more that goes with that, and boy were they right. Don't get me wrong, I really like it here, and I really like my job, but needless to say, I am having a "woe is me" night.
I'm a little tired of feeling so isolated. I miss my friends.
